My Contributions
I foundered the Royalty Journal 2 years ago; my goal was to create a high-quality, independent bookzine that renders the stories of black luminaries while focusing on the perseverance they’ve relied on to find continued success. Each issue focus on a topic (creative entrepreneurship, wealth, wellness, etc.) I design and creative direction and code development, the website, and print journal.

The Royalty Journal is a high-quality independent bookzine that renders the stories of black luminaries while focusing on the perseverance they’ve relied on to find continued success. Our pages are devoted to commemorating their journeys.  The challenges they’ve overcome act as entry points for the candid interviews, features, and photo-stories, Art ads, we present our readers. Here, we believe that spreading stories of black resilience is essential to uplifting our community. Our hope is to provide another avenue through which they can flourish.

GYRO: CODERS VS. CANCER HACKATHON

CHALLENGE:
Breast cancer is the second deadliest cancer. BUT it has the highest survival rate if caught early. Therefore early detection is the closest thing to a cure. Self chec, in partnership with gyro and Startup Institute, are asking attendees to come up with innovative tools to help women learn and adhere to an effective self-examination schedule.

SOLUTION:
Coders vs. Cancer was created to solve the cancer industry’s problem of awareness without action. This inaugural hackathon against breast cancer aimed to create programs that actually affect behavior and encourage monthly self examination.
